Behind the Orange Curtain

The Real Housewives of Orange County Season Six is very different from previous seasons. It seems that all the women are finally coming to terms or being honest with how things really are. Alexis and Tamra especially; they both have previously acted like their marriages were perfect and only slightly mentioned little digs here and there of their frustrations, where as now they say it like it is. None of them seem to want to pretend that they all get along and are friends and if they feel like laying it all on the line they will! There is definitely a darker tone on this season; possibly because both Alexis and Peggy, the new housewife, have both defaulted on their home loans and had to move and downsize; and have brought them down to earth. Alexis especially has so far seemed the most changed in her perspective and doesn’t live on cloud nine anymore.

            The mere thought of Gretchen and Slade makes my skin crawl. They are both extremely pathological and shady. Tamra revealed so many true things about Gretchen in the past seasons yet she continues to deny they are valid. She continues to put herself in the victim role and see everyone else as judging her. I never in my life thought I would stick up for Alexis, but the “princess gate” was completely overblown and it was obvious to everyone but Gretchen how Alexis meant it. I’m starting to feel like Gretchen’s actions are more for show and entertainment than real. The fact that she demanded that Shawna always have her back and stick up for her in the future is crazy, especially when there was no need for Shawna to get involved at all. It’s clearly obvious that I’m on Team Tamra; I’m glad she’s away from that psycho Simon and has moved on to her new man. I’m a little confused about Eddie though because Simon previously stated that Eddie was his friend and they would all go out together. I respect that Tamra has picked up the pieces so quickly and is trying, for the most part, to keep out of the drama this season.

            Peggy is the new OC housewife and I’m unsure of her already. I’m sure it’s extremely hard for her to watch the show after the fact. Alexis and Peggy are friends?? Could have fooled me. These two women are not friends but competitors. I understand with some women that can be common but it’s usually over clothes or possessions, not their children. Peggy and her husband seem very off to me. There is something not right there and I’m sure we will see this as the show rolls on. Why someone would feel the need to show their arsenal on TV is puzzling. Alexis, Alexis, Alexis. I have never been a fan of this women and I’m not too sure if my feelings will change this season. She isn’t ordering her crazy drinks, she talks about how she wanted more than being a stay at home mom, and that her relationship with Jim has changed. I’m anxious to see if Jim and Tamra are the new Simon and Vicki, I call YES.

            Vicki is the housewife we can always count on to be the same. She does what she wants and doesn’t apologize for it. She’s loud and as she says, “its work, work, work” If you really pay attention to her associates, they either don’t say a word around her or seem to be incredibly annoyed. It may be the cameras but I’ll take the latter and say it’s because she’s difficult to work for. What you can’t deny is her love for Briana. She wants the best for her daughter but is still trying to keep a grasp on her in order to protect her. Considering Donn, it’s obvious that the relationship is a lost cause, which I’m so sad about because he is so nice and by far the most normal husband on the show. Vicki has always stated in previous seasons that she wanted more in her “love tank” and wanted new life experiences and it’s obvious she wants to flirt and have fun.

This season of the OC housewives is more real than ever before. No one is hiding behind anything and it’s all out on the table for everyone to see. I foresee problems in Alexis and Jim’s marriage and issues between Gretchen and Slade. I think it’s safe to say that all the women will come out of this experience completely different than previous seasons.

so I really haven't been into the mia housewives but they def are thought provoking. I don't like any of them so far, except for Lea, she is fascinating to me! I don't know why but her look, her non-moving face, and the way she interacts is incredibly interesting. out of all the cities they are so aware of the cameras and they def play up to them. adriana seems to be the most vulnerable and wears her heart on her sleeve but the constant drama is just too much! settle down honey. kim zoliak? haha I didn't notice that when I watched it earlier. oddly enough my mom totally remembers the trial her husband was in. usually I look up that kind of stuff on the internet but I'm so disinterested in these women I haven't. this whole charity just seems very shady..not saying it is but to me raising over 11 million dollars for at-risk kids??? what doe the money go toward? hmmm who knows.
